      OverviewThe production of hypochlorous acid (HOCl) by the myeloperoxidase-H2O2-Cl- system of phagocytes plays a vital role in the ability of immune cells to kill a wide range of pathogens including bacteria and viruses. Hypochlorous acid is one of the various reactive oxygen species (ROS) including hydroxyradical (・OH), superoxide (O2－・), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), singlet oxygen (1O2), nitric oxide (・NO), and peroxynitrite (ONOO－).

      The BioTracker™ 574 Red HOCL Dye is a fluorescent probe that shows excellent selectivity against hypochlorous acid (HOCl) in living cells. The dye contains fast reactivity, slow photobleaching and is suitable for time-lapse live cell imaging.
