Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used in:
  • Ascorbic acid assay to homogenize microalgae samples under ice-cold conditions, facilitating the extraction of ascorbic acid (vitamin C).
  • Volatile Basic Nitrogen (VBN) assay to extract volatile basic nitrogen from the sample, aiding in the assessment of the freshness and quality of the meat.
