Application

2-Propanol is frequently used in HPLC :
  • As a solvent for sample preparation, especially for moderately polar to non-polar analytes.
  • To enhance resolution and peak shape in the analysis of lipids and hydrophobic compounds
  • as a mobile phase modifier in silver ion HPLC to enhance the solubility of acetonitrile in hexane-based systems. It significantly improves the resolution of positional isomers of triacylglycerols containing long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids
