A synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 281-301 of the CaM kinase II α-subunit. Acts as a potent inhibitor of CaM kinase II catalytic fragment (IC50 = 2 µM). The inhibition is competitive with respect to ATP and noncompetitive with respect to peptide substrate.

DescriptionA synthetic peptide corresponding to residues 281-301 of the α subunit of CaM kinase II. Acts as a potent inhibitor (IC50 = 2 µM) of CaM kinase II catalytic fragment. Acts in a competitive manner with respect to ATP and in a noncompetitive manner with respect to peptide substrate. It contains the autoinhibitory domain of CaM kinase II, as well as the initial autophosphorylation site (Thr286).
