L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in mammalian blood and tissues. It is vital for biochemical and cell culture research. It supports cell growth, metabolism, and protein synthesis. • as a supplement in Roswell Park Memorial Institute (RPMI) 1640 medium to culture human monocytic cell line.

L-Glutamine is very stable as a dry powder and as a frozen solution. In liquid media or stock solutions, however, L-glutamine degrades relatively rapidly. Optimal cell performance usually requires supplementation of the media with L-glutamine prior to use.
