Application

3-(Methylthio)propionaldehyde has been used as a reactant in:
  • Oxidative coupling and chemoselective oxidation
  • Intermolecular alkyne hydroacylation reactions
  • Oxidation of sulfides to sulfoxides
It can also be used as a biosynthetic precursor of ethylene.
