General description
MCDB 153 media are modifications of Ham′s nutrient mixture F-12, designed for the growth of human keratinocytes, clonal growth of chicken embryo fibroblasts, and Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells using low levels of fetal bovine serum protein (FBSP), extensive trace elements or no serum protein.
Application
MCDB 153 Medium has been used as a component of melanoma isolation media (MIM) to culture human non-metastatic and metastatic melanoma cells.
Preparation Note
Formulated to contain 17.6 grams of powder per liter of medium.
Supplement with 1.18 g/L sodium bicarbonate.
