General description

Amberlite XAD-2, a hydrophobic copolymer of styrene-divinylbenzene resin, requires longer purification process and is commonly used as a sorbent. Amberlite XAD-2 resin sorbs organic compounds depending upon the aromaticity and size of the hydrophobic groups through low-energy physical interactions.

  • Amberlite™ XAD®-2 was used as adsorbent in the extraction of organochlorine compounds using Soxhlat extraction technique.
  • Amberlite™ XAD®-2 was used as adsorbent in the extraction of honey samples using column chromatography for HPLC analysis.
  • Amberlite™ XAD®-2 was used in adsorption chromatography.
Résine polyaromatique adsorbante pour composés hydrophobes d′un poids moléculaire jusqu′à 20 000 : extraction de composés organiques, phénols, récupération d′antibiotiques, tensioactifs, constituants d′arômes. Peut servir de support pour l′extraction de catalyseurs ou de métaux. Pour les versions nettoyées de qualité US EPA, voir Supelpak-2 et Supelpak-2B.
