Gene Information

human ... SRPK2(6733)

General description

SRPK2 is also known as SRSF protein kinase 2, SFRS protein kinase 2, and Serine/arginine-rich protein-specific kinase 2. SRPK2 is a kinase which is involved in the phosphorylation of SR splicing factors, and the regulation of splicing. SRPK2 also promotes neuronal apoptosis, plays an essential role in splicesomal B complex formation, and mediates hepatitis B virus (HBV) replication and core protein phosphorylation. SRPK2 is highly expressed in brain, moderately expressed in heart and skeletal muscle and at low levels in lung, liver, and kidney.
~120 kDa observed. Uniprot describes 2 isoforms produced by alternative splicing at ~77 kDa and ~79 kDa Uniprot states 8 phosphorylation sites are known to exist.

Immunogen

Epitope: Protein kinase domain
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the protein kinase domain of human SRPK2 (Ser497).

Application

Anti-phospho-SRPK2 (Ser497) Antibody is a highly specific rabbit polyclonal antibody, that targets SRPK & has been tested in western blotting.

Biochem/physiol Actions

This antibody recognizes the protein kinase domain of SRPK2 phosphorylated at Ser497.

Physical form

Affinity purified
Purified rabbit polyclonal in buffer containing 0.1 M Tris-Glycine (pH 7.4), 150 mM NaCl with 0.05% sodium azide.

Preparation Note

Stable for 1 year at 2-8°C from date of receipt.

Analysis Note

Control
NIH3T3 cell lysate and Insulin treated NIH3T3 cell lysate
Evaluated by Western Blotting in NIH3T3 cell lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:500 dilution of this antibody detected SRPK2 (Ser497) in 10 µg of NIH3T3 cell lysate and Insulin treated NIH3T3 cell lysate.

Chemotherapy-induced painful peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is the most common toxicity associated with widely used chemotherapeutics. CIPN is the major cause of dose reduction or discontinuation of otherwise life-saving treatment. Unfortunately, CIPN can persist in cancer survivors, which adversely affects their
