General description
Thulium(III) chloride hexahydrate is white crystalline water- soluble salt. Owing to its ionic conductivity and stability, it is widely used in the field of solar cells and semiconductor applications.
Application
Thulium(III) chloride hexahydrate can be used:
- As a precursor to prepare co-doped ZrO2 with enhanced optoelectronic feature like band gap and crystal sizes. These Tm doped metal oxides are used in supercapacitors and perovskite solar cells.
- As Tm source to synthesize NaYF4:Yb,Tm upconversion nanocrystal-semiconductor hybrid structures with wide spectrum photocatalytic activity.
- As a dopant to prepare LaCl3:Tm3+ single crystals for ,use in spectroscopic applications for radiation detection.
