Application

25-NBD Cholesterol is suitable:
  • as a cholesterol source in De Man, Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) broth used for qualitative cholesterol assimilation study
  • for use in the outer lipid coating step during the preparation of fluorescently labelled lipid-coated calcium phosphate (LCP)- gemcitabine monophosphate (GMP)
  • for liposome preparation

Biochem/physiol Actions

Nitrobenzoxadiazolyl (NBD) cholesterol is a fluorescently tagged cholesterol, useful to differentiate exogenous and endogenous cholesterol in bacterial cell membrane. The NBD cholesterol is indicated as green colour in fluorescent signals.
