Application
Used to eliminate enzyme inhibition by traces of heavy metals, and to inhibit enzymes that require divalent cations as cofactors. Iron-EDTA enhances damage due to reactive oxygen species, such as depletion of reduced glutathione, formation of methemoglobin, and lipid peroxidation.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Chelates divalent cations.

Horizontal transfer of the TOL plasmid was examined in Pseudomonas putida (Pp) KT2442 micro-colonies on semi-solid agar surfaces. Horizontal gene transfer is usually studied in large populations where all information is based on average estimates of the transfer events in

Agrobacterium-mediated transformation is widely used for gene delivery in plants. However, commercial cultivars of crop plants are often recalcitrant to transformation because the protocols established for model varieties are not directly applicable to them. The genus Brassica includes the oil

Biological reduction of Fe(III) to Fe(II) is a key step in nitrogen oxides (NOx) removal by the integrated chemical absorption-biological reduction method, which determines the concentration of Fe(II) in the scrubbing liquid. A new Fe(III)EDTA reduction strain, named as FD-3
