General description

Glucose, the most abundant natural monosaccharide, serves asthe universal fuel for living cells. In plants, it accumulates in fruits andother tissues in its free form; in animals, it circulates in the bloodstreamand is taken up by cells to power glycolysis, the pentose-phosphate pathway(providing NADPH for biosynthesis and redox control), and the tricarboxylicacid (TCA) cycle coupled to oxidative phosphorylation to generate ATP.
Quantitative measurement of glucose in serum, plasma, urineor culture media underpins metabolic research (including flux analysis andinsulin-signaling studies), and disease modeling (such as the Warburg effect incancer and investigations into oxidative-stress pathways or glycogen storagedisorders).
The GAHK20 enzymatic glucose assay kit, based on theglucose/hexokinase reaction offers high sensitivity, a broad linear range, andcompatibility with high-throughput screening and detailed mechanistic studiesof metabolic health and disease.
