Application
Oleic acid is used to investigate effects on apolipoprotein B synthesis, degradation and secretion in cultured cells.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Activates protein kinase C in hepatocytes.
Oleic acid increases hepatic secretion of apolipoprotein B100 in hepatocyte cell lines and in mice . Oleic acid inhibits apolipoprotein B100 secretion at higher physiologic doses .

Mg-Al-ascorbic acid (ASA)-layered double hydroxides (ASA-LDHs) with Mg/Al=3 were synthesized by ion-exchange, coprecipitation and reconstruction methods. Composites with sodium oleate (SOA)/ASA-LDH were prepared by an ion-exchange method using various concentrations of SOA solutions. The (003) basal spacing of the ASA-LDHs
