General description

DNA dC->dU-editing enzyme APOBEC-3G (APOBEC3G) is a member of the cytidine and deoxycytidylate deaminase family. APOBEC3G is a multi-isoform member of the cytidine deaminase family of enzymes that act on monomeric nucleoside and nucleotide substrates. Similar to TRIM5 alpha which targets incoming retroviral capsids, APOBEC3G plays an important role in cellular defense against retroviral infection. It is expressed in spleen, testes, ovary, peripheral blood leukocytes, and several tumor cell lines.

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human APOBEC3G.

Application

Detect APOBEC-3G using this rabbit polyclonal antibody, Anti-APOBEC3G Antibody validated for use in western blotting & IHC.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: 1 µg/mL from a representative lot detected APOBEC3G in human spleen tissue.

Biochem/physiol Actions

This antibody recognizes the N-terminus of APOBEC3G.

Analysis Note

Evaluated by Western Blotting/Peptide Inhibition Assay Analysis in Caco-2 cell lysate.

Western Blotting/Peptide Inhibition Assay Analysis: 5 µg/mL of this antibody detected APOBEC3G in 15 µg of Caco-2 cell lysate.
