Selective ligand with high affinity for CRF2 Receptors
Urocortin III belongs to corticotropin-releasing hormone family with high affinity for the type 2 corticotropin-releasing factor (CRFR2) receptor. It stimulates insulin and glucagon secretion.Urocortin III also possesses cardioprotective property and has minimal impact on the hypothalamic stress axis. It is, therefore, utilized for treating ischemic heart disease.
