General description

Lyn (V-yes-1 Yamaguchi sarcoma viral related oncogene homolog) is a member of the Src family of protein tyrosine kinases and is expressed primarily in hematopoietic cells and neural tissues. Lyn is involved in the regulation of cell activation by undergoing phosphorylation upon activation. Lyn activation triggers downstream signaling pathways that are mediated by Lyn phosphorylation of tyrosine residues of receptor proteins and recruitment and activation of other kinases including Syk, phospholipase Cγ2 (PLCγ2) and phosphatidyl inositol-3 kinase. Lyn also plays an important role in B cells as a key regulator of both positive and negative signals, thus acting to maintain the balance between activation and inhibition. Deregulation of this balance can result in severe pathological consequences such as autoimmune disease.
Immunogen
KLH conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the C-terminus of Lyn.
Application
Western Blot Analysis: 1:500-1:1000 dilution of this lot detected Lyn in A431 cell lysate.
Anti-Lyn Antibody, clone 10A6.2 is an antibody against Lyn for use in WB.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Recognizes the C-terminus of Lyn (V-yes-1 Yamaguchi sarcoma viral related oncogene homolog).
Analysis Note
Routinely evaluated by western blot on A431 cell lysate.

Histone ubiquitination plays a vital role in DNA damage response (DDR), which is important for maintaining genomic integrity in eukaryotic cells. In DDR, ubiquitination of histone H2A and γH2AX by the concerted action of ubiquitin (Ub) ligases, RNF168 and RNF8

Ubiquitination-directed proteasomal degradation of synaptic proteins, presumably mediated by lysine 48 (K48) of ubiquitin, is a key mechanism in synapse and neural circuit remodeling. However, more than half of polyubiquitin (polyUb) species in the mammalian brain are estimated to be
