General description
The M-Gredient® Casein Acid Hydrolysate Prime, for Biotechnology and Microbiology is produced by the hydrolyzation of food grade casein with hydrochloric acid. Under these digestion conditions a high content of free amino acid is obtained and a proportion of growth promoting substances are retained. The inorganic salt level is high due to neutralization of the digestive acid. Additionally, this product has a particularly low iron content.
Application
It is often used alongside other nitrogen sources, such as peptones or yeast extracts, to enhance microbial growth. M-Gredient® Casein Acid Hydrolysate can be utilized for industrial fermentations with various microorganisms, favoring a high yield of biomass, particularly for certain yeasts and fastidious bacteria. Furthermore, casein hydrolysate can serve as a component in the preparation of culture media.
