General description

Method: colorimetric with color card 0.04 - 0.08 - 0.15 °d 0.05 - 0.1 - 0.19°e 0.7 - 1.4 - 2.7 mg/l CaCO₃ MQuant®
This MQuant® Residual Hardness test (formally MColortest®) is suitable for the colorimetric determination using the easy to use color card. Calcium and magnesium ions react with an indicator to form a red complex compound. The residual hardness is measured semiquantitatively by visual comparison of the color of the measurement solution with the color fields of a color card.
The test can be used in:
  • Boiler water and boiler feed water
  • Check of ion-exchanger plants for the production of deionized water
