General description
Pseudomonas Agar is a selective medium for isolating Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is also differential media for P. aeruginosa by allowing the formation of soluble blue-green pyocyanin pigment. Casein and peptone provide the essential nitrogenous nutrients, carbon, sulfur, and trace elements for the growth of Pseudomonas. Glycerol, magnesium chloride, and potassium sulfate promote the production of pyocyanin.
Application
Pseudomonas Agar is a selective medium for isolating Pseudomonas aeruginosa in non-sterile pharmaceuticals and food.
