Gene Information
human ... RAC1(5879)
General description
Rac1 is a member of a RhoGTPase subfamily (Rac1-Rac4) that transduces extracellular signals from G-coupled protein receptors (GPCR), integrins and growth factor receptors to effector molecules that modulate multiple signaling pathways. While Rac1 supports the activation of MAPkinase pathways and gene activation, it’s most important functions include the regulation of cytoskeletal structures. Together with Rho (regulator of stress fibers) and Cdc42 (regulator of filopodia), Rac modulates the formation of focal adhesion (FA) complexes; membrane ruffles and lamellipodia that contribute to important cell functions related to cell attachment and movement.
21 kDa
Application
Anti-Rac1 Antibody, clone 23A8, Magnetic bead Conjugate detects level of Rac1 & has been published & validated for use in WB & IP.
Biochem/physiol Actions
Other species have not been tested.
Recognizes human Rac1.
Preparation Note

The nervous system spread of alpha-synuclein fibrils is thought to cause Parkinson's disease (PD) and other synucleinopathies; however, the mechanisms underlying internalization and cellular spread are enigmatic. Here, we use confocal and superresolution microscopy, subcellular fractionation, and electron microscopy (EM)

In sepsis, macrophage bacterial phagocytosis is impaired, but the mechanism is not well elucidated. Extracellular cold-inducible RNA-binding protein (eCIRP) is a damage-associated molecular pattern that causes inflammation. However, whether eCIRP regulates macrophage bacterial phagocytosis is unknown. Here, we reported that
