General description
A cell-permeable, of 8-Hydroxy 1541 (Cat. No. 529662) analog that is shown to selectively activate procaspase-3 (EC50 = 1.3 µM), but not procaspase-6. Both 1541 and 1541B are shown to effectively induce apoptosis in various cancer cell lines with comparable potencies, indicating that caspase-3 activation alone is as effective as simultaneous activations of caspase-3/-6 in cell death induction of the cells tested. 1541B is expected to inhibit the activity of mature/active caspase-3 and exhibit reduced procaspase-3 activation at high concentrations.
