General description
An antitumor antibiotic that acts as a potent protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) inhibitor (IC50 = 3.2 nM). Inhibits protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) at much higher concentrations (IC50 = 131 µM). Does not affect the activity of protein phosphatase 2B (PP2B). Inhibits the catalytic activity of DNA topoisomerase II (topo II) and arrests cell growth at the G2/M phase of the cell cycle in a dose-dependent manner.
Antitumor antibiotic that acts as a potent protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) inhibitor (IC50 = 3.2 nM). Also inhibits protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) at higher concentrations (IC50 = 131 µM), but has no effect on protein phosphatase 2B (PP2B). Inhibits the catalytic activity of DNA topoisomerase II (topo II) and arrests cell growth at the G2/M phase of the cell cycle in a dose-dependent manner.
