General description

Native α1-3,4-fucosidase from Xanthomonas species. Catalyzes the hydrolysis of α1,3- and α1,4-linked branched, non-reducing terminal fucose from complex carbohydrates. The presence of sialic acid (but not fucose) linked to galactose will block cleavage.
Note: 1 mU = 1 milliunit.

Physical form

In 25 mM NaCl, 20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 7.5.

Other Notes

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will catalyze the release of 1.0 µmol fucose from 3-fucosyllactose per min at 37°C, pH 5.0.
