General description

Recombinant, human insulin (zinc) expressed in P. pastoris. Peptide anabolic hormone produced by pancreatic β-cells. Increases the synthesis of protein, fat, glycogen, and substrate oxidation in mitochondria. Interacts with membrane insulin receptor to cause its biological actions.

Preparation Note

Following reconstitution store in the refrigerator (4°C). Stock solutions are stable for up to 6 weeks at 4°C.
Insulin is practically insoluble from pH 4.5-7.0.

The aim of the present study was to determine the role of individual PHLPP isoforms in insulin signaling and insulin resistance in neuronal cells. PHLPP isoforms were either silenced or overexpressed individually, and the effects were observed on individual Akt
