An exceptional thiopeptide that is used as a substrate for the rapid, sensitive, and continuous spectrophotometric assay of Type IV collagenases, MMP-2 (gelatinase A), and MMP-9 (gelatinase B). Also acts as a substrate for vertebrate collagenase. Cleavage is monitored at 324 nm.
