General description

Native, alkaline phosphatase from calf intestine. Homodimeric enzyme that hydrolyzes phosphate esters of primary and secondary alcohols, amines, and phenols. Useful in hydrolysis of 5′-terminal phosphates of DNA and RNA. Note: 1KU = 1,000 units.

In 6 mM MgCl, 6 mM Tris-HCl, 0.12mM ZnCl, 40% glycerol, pH 7.6.

Other Notes

One unit is defined as the amount of enzyme that will hydrolyze 1.0 µmol of pNPP per min at 25°C, pH 9.6.
