General description

A cell-permeable STAT3 SH2 domain-derived (588-615) 28-mer peptide that competitively prevents STAT3 binding to cognate pTyr peptide motif, represses STAT3 dimerization, induces apoptosis and acts as a selective constitutive STAT3 activation inhibitor in several tumor cells at 50 µM. Shown to localize in nucleus, potently block STAT3 phosphorylation, DNA-binding and transcriptional activities with minimal effect on STAT1, STAT5 and MEK signaling.

The signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) has been identified as one of the cystic fibrosis (CF) modifying genes. In this study, we aimed to assess the association between STAT3 genotype and CF patient survival over several decades

The Janus kinase (JAK)/signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT) signaling pathway plays an important role in cell proliferation, cell differentiation, cell migration, and cell death. It is the principal signaling mechanism for a variety of cytokines and growth factors. Constitutive activation or dysregulation of JAK/STAT signaling can result in inflammatory disease, erythrocytosis, gigantism, and leukemia.
