General description

50kDa
Pregnane X receptor (PXR) is a nuclear receptor and is similar in form to PPAR and RXR. PXR is activated by a large number of endogenous and exogenous chemicals including steroids and antibiotics. One of the key roles of PXR is the induction of CYP3A4, an P450 enzyme that is responsible for the metabolism of many drugs.

Immunogen

Recombinant human hPXR

Physical form

Raw rabbit serum with 0.1% sodium azide.

Preparation Note

Maintain at 2-8°C for up to 12 months from date of receipt.

The most common clinical implication for the activation of the human pregnane X receptor (PXR) is the occurrence of drug-drug interactions mediated by up-regulated cytochromes P450 3A (CYP3A) isozymes. Typical rodent models do not predict drug-drug interactions mediated by human
