General description

Atg4D (autophagy-related protein 4D) is a member of the Atg4 family of C54 endopeptidases that are required for the synthesis of autophagosomes. Atg4D is found to be cleaved by caspase-3 into a more active form where it can interact with the autophagosome marker Atg8. Atg4D is also known to be associated with mitochondrial dysfunction and the induction of apoptosis.
~56 kDa observed.
The calculated molecular weight is 53 kDa; however, Atg4D has been shown as a ~55 kDa band in western blots (Li, M., et al. (2011). J Biol Chem. 286(9):7327-7338.)

Immunogen

Epitope: N-terminus
KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to the N-terminus of human Atg4D.

Application

Anti-Atg4D Antibody is an antibody against Atg4D for use in WB, IH(P).
Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:200 dilution of a previous lot detected Atg4D in human testicular cancer tissue.

Western Blot Analysis: 1 µg/mL from a representative lot detected Atg4D on 10 µg of human fetal skeletal muscle tissue, NIH/3T3, and L6 cell lysates.
