Myb-binding protein 1A (MYBBP1A) interacts with sequence specific DNA-binding proteins in order to activate or repress transcription. Transcriptional repression via Myb-binding protein 1A is thought to be mediated by histone deacetylase activity (HDAC activity).

The full length of this protein is observed at ~160 kDa; however, it is proteolytically cleaved into ~140 kDa and ~67 kDa fragments (Hochstatter, J., et al. (2012).
