Gene Information
human ... GFAP(2670)
General description
50 kDa Observed (Using unconjugated antibody MAB3402)
Glial fibrillary acidic protein is a class-III intermediate filament. GFAP is the main constituent of intermediate filaments in astrocytes and serves as a cell specific marker that distinguishes differentiated astrocytes from other glial cells during the development of the central nervous system.
Immunogen
Purified glial filament protein (Debus, E., 1983).
Application
Anti-GFAP Antibody, Cy3 Conjugate is an antibody against GFAP for use in IC, IH.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected GFAP in adult mouse brain tissue.
