Hyaluronan synthase 2 (HAS2) is also known as Hyaluronate synthase 2, or Hyaluronic acid (HA) synthase 2. As the name suggests, HAS2 is involved in hyaluronan/hyaluronic acid synthesis. Hyaluronan synthase 2 is expressed in fibroblasts. Chromosomal aberrations involving Hyaluronan synthase 2 may be a cause of lipoblastomas, usually diagnosed in children.
