General description
Milliflex® funnel is a ready-to-use, sterilized filter unit that combines a 100mL funnel and a membrane filter in a single device offering a complete solution for bioburden testing. The funnel unit is made of Polypropylene, SAN and the membrane is made of white gridded, 51mm diameter mixed cellulose esters (MCE) with 0.45μm pore size. The sealed integral membrane filter eliminates the need for membrane manipulation and handling, thus minimizing a major source of contamination and thereby improves bioburden testing reliability. The sealed membrane prevents the bypass phenomenon often found with other filtration systems. The Milliflex® filtration possesses almost twice the surface area of standard membranes enabling faster filtration and the funnel can be easily detached from the membrane without the use of any tools. The convex shape of the membrane after filtration demonstrates the integrity of the membrane and prevents air bubbles from being trapped when placed on culture media.
Application
Milliflex® 100mL funnel with MCE membrane is used in Bioburden testing, water monitoring and general microbiological analysis of bottled water and beer. It is widely used in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and brewing industry
