Application

Calcium phosphate dibasic has been used:
  • to prepare high temperature stoichiometric sintered hydroxyapatite (sin-HA)
  • as a component of calcium phosphate cement (CPC) to prepare bioartificial pancreas (BAP)
  • to produce calcium pyrophosphate (Ca2P2O7) for the preparation of α-tricalcium phosphates (α-TCP)

Calcium phosphate dibasic is an anhydrate used to dilute tablets and capsules. It is widely used as an excipient for its compressibility, amenability, and brittle fracture propensity.
