General description
An ionic detergent used for solubilizing lipids and proteins.
Sodium taurochenodeoxycholate is a bile acid that can be used as an anionic detergent.
Application
Sodium taurochenodeoxycholate has been used in a study to assess whether pancreatic β-cells contribute to BA-dependent regulation of glucose. It has also been used in a study to investigate short-term feedback regulation of sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (Ntcp) by bile salts in vivo.

Adipose tissue plays a central role in maintaining metabolic homeostasis under normal conditions. Metabolic diseases such as obesity and type 2 diabetes are often accompanied by chronic inflammation and adipose tissue dysfunction. In this study, we observed that endoplasmic reticulum

The mechanism of nutrient sensing in the upper small intestine (USI) and ileum that regulates glucose homeostasis remains elusive. Short-term high-fat (HF) feeding increases taurochenodeoxycholic acid (TCDCA; an agonist of farnesoid X receptor (FXR)) in the USI and ileum of
