Estrogen antagonist in mammary gland. Blocks estradiol-stimulated VEGF production in breast tumor cells. Protein kinase C inhibitor.

Tamoxifen and its metabolite 4-hydroxytamoxifen are selective estrogen response modifiers (SERMs) that act as estrogen antagonists in mammary gland. Blocks estradiol-stimulated VEGF production in breast tumor cells.
