General description
Iodoethane also known as ethyl iodide is an alkyl iodide. The interaction of iodoethane with Pt(111) surfaces has been analyzed by using thermal desorption and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. Its microwave spectrum has been recorded and studied. The dynamics of the gas phase photolysis of iodoethane have been studied using resonance Raman spectra. Its thermodynamic characteristics in the ideal state have been reported.
Application
Iodoethane has been used for performing gas-phase experiments for recording extreme ultraviolet (XUV) photoelectron spectra.

Four new N-ethylcarbazole-linked aza-boron-dipyrromethene (aza-BODIPY) dyes (8 a,b and 9 a,b) were synthesized and characterized. The presence of the N-ethylcarbazole moiety shifts their absorption and fluorescence spectra to the near-infrared region, λ≈650-730 nm, of the electromagnetic spectrum. These dyes possess strong molar absorptivity

Delayed diagnosis in invasive aspergillosis (IA) contributes to its high mortality. Gliotoxin (GT) and bis-methyl-gliotoxin (bmGT) are secondary metabolites produced by Aspergillus during invasive, hyphal growth and may prove diagnostically useful. Because IA pathophysiology and GT's role in virulence vary depending
