Application
Manganese(II) sulfate monohydrate may be used to assist the oxidation of arenes and sulfides by potassium permanganate.
General description
Manganese(II) sulfate monohydrate (MnSO4·H2O) is a hydrated manganese salt. The neurological response caused in rhesus monkeys due to MnSO4 exposure have been studied. The limiting molar conductance and association constant of MnSO4 dissolved in aqueous N,N-dimethylformamide have been determined. The solubility, binary interaction parameters and solubility parameters were obtained for aqueous solution containing manganese sulfate monohydrate and magnesium sulfate.

High-dose human exposure to manganese results in manganese accumulation in the basal ganglia and dopaminergic neuropathology. Occupational manganese neurotoxicity is most frequently linked with manganese oxide inhalation; however, exposure to other forms of manganese may lead to higher body burdens.

Anthrax is a major zoonotic disease of wildlife, and in places like West Africa, it can be caused by Bacillus anthracis in arid nonsylvatic savannahs, and by B. cereus biovar anthracis (Bcbva) in sylvatic rainforests. Bcbva-caused anthrax has been implicated
