General description

El alcohol isopropílico (IPA, 2-propanol, isopropanol) es un alcohol alifático hidrosoluble con un olor dulce. Es uno de los compuestos aromáticos volátiles encontrados en Tricholoma matsutake, un hongo utilizado en los platos japoneses por su aroma. El IPA es también un principal componente aromático de la esencia de limón.

Application

Isopropyl alcohol has been used:
  • in oil red O staining of the adipocytes to dissolve the stain and extract the stain from the cell
  • as a component of the saponification and acetylacetone reagent and to prepare triglyceride standard stock solution to extract liver triglyceride (TG)
  • to flush through the microfluidic device before experiments to effectively remove air bubbles from the channels
