General description

LiChrosorb® RP-18 is a reliable irregular shaped silica gel carriers with reversed phase properties. It is well suited for the separation of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds.

Application

  • Determination of berberine in human serum by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography.: This study outlines a method for detecting berberine in human serum using reversed-phase HPLC, utilizing the LiChrosorb RP-18 column for its reliability in separating chemical compounds in biological samples (Sun Y et al., 1997).

  • Kinetics of hydrolysis of 4-methoxy-2-[2-hydroxy-3(4-phenyl-1-piperazinyl)]propyl-2,3-dihydro-6-methyl-1,3-dioxo-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine in aqueous solutions.: This research employs RP-18 to study the stability and hydrolysis kinetics of a complex organic compound, highlighting its application in pharmaceutical analysis (Muszalska I et al., 2004).

  • A validated spectrophotometric and liquid chromatography method for determination and purity evaluation of 4-methoxy-2-[2-hydroxy-3(4-phenyl-1-piperazinyl)]propyl-2,3-dihydro-6-methyl-1,3-dioxo-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-c]pyridine.: This paper details the use of RP-18 in validating a method for assessing the purity of pharmaceutical compounds, demonstrating its essential role in quality control (Muszalska I et al., 2003).

  • High-performance liquid chromatographic determination of the antifungal drug fluconazole in plasma and saliva of human immunodeficiency virus-infected patients.: This study utilizes RP-18 to monitor fluconazole in clinical samples, providing insights into the pharmacokinetics and therapeutic monitoring of antifungal treatment in HIV patients (Beijnen JH et al., 1995).

  • Ion-pair solid-phase extraction of cimetidine from plasma and subsequent analysis by high-performance liquid chromatography.: Describes a method using RP-18 for the extraction and analysis of cimetidine, a drug used to treat heartburn and peptic ulcers, from plasma samples, illustrating its versatility in drug analysis (Russel FG et al., 1994).
