General description

Aflatoxin B1 is a mycotoxin found to be hepatocarcinogenic in nature. It has a strong affinity for the deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) and binds to both native and denatured deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) as indicated by spectroscopy and equilibrium dialysis results. This fungal metabolic product is commonly found in food and feed, contaminated by Aspergillus species.

The product is supplied in CERTAN® vial.

Application

Refer to the product′s Certificate of Analysis for more information on a suitable instrument technique. Contact Technical Service for further support.
Aflatoxin B1 solution may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in meat, meat products, eggs and milk using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with fluorescence and ultraviolet detection.
