Application
Potassium can be used in the synthesis of potassium containing solid-state chalcogenides with promising thermoelectric properties. It may also be used in the dehalogenation of 1,3-di-tert-butyl-2,2-dichloro-1,3-diaza-2-sila-4-cyclopentene to form 1,3-di-tert-butyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-1,3,2-diazasilol-2-ylidene.
Combines under pressure with silver metal to form 2 new compounds: K2Ag and K3Ag.†
