General description

Metabolic hormones such as amylin, C-peptide, ghrelin, GIP, GLP-1, glucagon, insulin, leptin, pancreatic polypeptide (PP), and PYY are central to regulating energy balance, appetite, and glucose metabolism in non-human primates. Amylin complements insulin in controlling blood glucose, while C-peptide reflects endogenous insulin production. Ghrelin stimulates hunger, and GLP-1 and GIP enhance insulin secretion post-meal. Glucagon raises blood glucose levels, and leptin signals satiety. PP and PYY modulate digestive processes and appetite. IL-6 and MCP-1/CCL2 provide insight into inflammation and immune-metabolic interactions. Together, these biomarkers offer a comprehensive view of metabolic health and endocrine function in preclinical primate models.

Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze 12 analytes in non-human primate serum, plasma, or cell culture supernatants.

Analytes included: Amylin (active), C-Peptide, Ghrelin (active), GIP (total), GLP-1 (active), Glucagon, IL-6, Insulin, Leptin, MCP-1/CCL2, Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP), PYY (total)
Note: Some analytes require a protease inhibitor during sample collection.

Assay Characteristics: Refer to assay protocol for details on cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.
