General description
Trichloro(1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorooctyl)silane (PFOCTS) is a high-performance fluorinated silane optimized for the deposition of ultra-low surface energy Self-Assembled Monolayers (SAMs). This 97% assay grade ensures maximum fluorinated chain density, providing exceptionally durable superhydrophobic and oleophobic properties. This reagent is the gold standard for creating "non-stick" surfaces in high-precision microfluidics and sensitive electronic interfaces, where it serves as a critical moisture barrier and anti-stiction layer.
Application
As a versatile molecular bridge, PFOCTS is essential for engineering intelligent interfaces and stimuli-responsive systems that enable precise interactions at the intersection of nanotechnology, biology, and electronics.
• Precision Microfluidics: Essential release agent for soft lithography (PDMS molding), ensuring high-fidelity channel replication and preventing polymer adhesion.
• Bio-Antifouling: Creates inert interfaces that minimize non-specific protein adsorption and unwanted cellular adhesion in diagnostic devices.
• Nanoelectronics (OFETs): Improves gate dielectric performance by reducing surface energy and leakage current, enhancing the air-stability of organic semiconductors.
• MEMS/NEMS Lubrication: Functions as a molecular lubricant to reduce stiction and friction in nanoscale electromechanical systems, extending device lifespan.
• Superhydrophobic Nanostructures: Functionalizes nanotube arrays to create biomimetic "slippery" surfaces for controlled droplet transport and self-cleaning medical tools.
