General description

A potent uptake inhibitor highly selective for 5-HT transporter without effect on noradrenalin or dopamine uptake (IC50 = 1.8, 8800 and 41000 nM for 5-HT, noradrenalin and dopamine, respectively). Clinically prescribed as an antidepressant drug. Widely used in research related to depressive disorders.
