General description

El 1-tioglicerol estimula la síntesis de porfirina en Escherichia coli de crecimiento aerobio. Es un inhibidor de la actividad glicerol cinasa tanto in vitro como in situ .

Application

El 1-tioglicerol se ha utilizado en un estudio para evaluar la manipulación del crecimiento acuoso de nanocristales de CdTe. También se ha utilizado en un estudio en el que se investigaba el efecto de la fijación de superficie sobre la unión de ligandos.

Preparation Note

Este producto es miscible en etanol (1 ml/ml, 50 %, v/v), produciendo una disolución transparente e incolora. También es miscible en agua (0,1 M).
