General description

ORBO 78 HBR on Carboxen® 564 specially cleaned (20/45), 400/200 mg sorbent tubes (W,W,W separators, O.D. × L 6 mm × 110 mm) contain two beds of the same selective adsorbent separated by glass wool or foam, for gas and vapor sampling. The dual-layer or two-bed construction of the tube allows for any sample breakthrough to be captured in the smaller back-up bed.

Journal of agricultural and food chemistry, 52(17), 5431-5435 (2004-08-19)
A rapid and automated solid phase microextraction (SPME) stable isotope dilution gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC-MS) method for 2-methoxy-3-isobutylpyrazine (MIBP) quantification in red wine was developed. Wines with 30% (w/v) NaCl and 2-methoxy-(2)H(3)-3-isobutylpyrazine internal standard were sampled with a 2 cm

Trihalomethanes are predominantly formed during disinfection of water via reactions of the oxidant with natural organic matter. Even though chlorinated and brominated trihalomethanes are the most widespread organic contaminants in drinking water, when iodide is present in raw water iodinated

Journal of chromatography. A, 991(1), 1-11 (2003-04-22)
The solid-phase microextraction (SPME) device was used as a time-weighted average (TWA) sampler for ethylene oxide. Carboxen/polydimethylsiloxane (CAR/PDMS) fiber was used and hydrogen bromide (HBr) was loaded onto the fiber. The SPME fiber assembly was then inserted into PTFE tubing

A new method was developed for the determination of 2-furfural (2-F) and 5-methylfurfural (5-MF), two products of Maillard reaction in vinegar, with head-space solid-phase microextraction (HS-SPME) coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). A divinylbenzene (DVB)/carboxen (CAR)/polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) fibre was used

Journal of agricultural and food chemistry, 50(11), 3129-3136 (2002-05-16)
To provide an efficient and running analytical tool to strawberry plant breeders who have to characterize and compare the aromatic properties of new cultivars to those already known, a HS-SPME/GC-MS analysis method has been coupled with a statistical treatment method
