General description
About the material:
The TissueFab PODS Growth Factor Loaded Bioink Kit, Bone differentiation, Vis/405 nm contains:
- Low endotoxin GelMA-based bioink containing a visible light photoinitiator and hydroxyapatite
- Human BMP-2 PODS
- Human BMP-4 PODS
- Human IGF-1 PODS
- Human RANK Ligand PODS
Printing and crosslinking parameters:
- Suitable for extrusion-based bioprinting
- Photoinitiator-assisted crosslinking at 405nm wavelength (Visible light)
TissueFab POD Growth Factor Loaded Bioink kit, Bone differentiation, Vis/405 nm, low endotoxin is a ready-to-use bioink kit which is formulated for high cell viability, printing fidelity, and is designed for extrusion-based 3D bioprinting and subsequent crosslinking with exposure to 405nm visible light. TissueFab POD Growth Factor Loaded Bioink kit, Bone differentiation, Vis/405 nm, low endotoxin can be used with most extrusion-based bioprinters, is biodegradable, and is compatible with human mesenchymal stem cells (hMSCs).
TissueFab bioink Bone Vis/405 nm, low endotoxin is designed for promoting osteogenic differentiation of stem cells. It is based on Gelatin methacryloyl (GelMA) - Hydroxyapatite (HAp) hydrogel system.
HAp is a highly crystalline form of calcium phosphate. HAp has a chemical similarity with the mineralized phase of bone which accounts for their excellent biocompatibility and osteoinductive and osteoconductive properties favorable for bone regeneration. HAp-containing hydrogels has been studied in literature to demonstrate their processability with different additive manufacturing approaches. Printing of cell laden structures with HAp containing bioink formulations have shown superior osteogenic properties.
Included growth facors, BMP-2, BMP-4, IGF-1, and RANK ligand, are known to play crucial roles in osteogenic differentiation. Their inclusion with PODS® delivery system allows their sustained release within bioprinted constructs and retainment of 70% bioactivity after 6 months. When mixed with the bioink component, the included PODS growth factors can promote bone differentiation of encapsulated cells.
