Anti-LRRTM4 Antibody, clone N205B/22
Leucine-rich repeat (LRR) containing proteins are involved in protein–protein interactions and mediate cellular events during nervous system development and disease. Human LRRTM4 (NCBI Gene ID 80059) is one of the four LRRTM family of genes that encode leucine-rich repeat transmembrane proteins, orthologous genes exist in murine, rodent, and other vertebrates, but not in invertebrates. LRRTM mRNAs are reported to predominantly express in the nervous system with individual LRRTMs possessing distinct expression patterns (PMID 12676565). The heparan sulfate (HS) proteoglycan glypican is identified as a receptor for LRRTM4, but not LRRTM2. Glypican 4 (GPC4) localized in the presynaptic membranes and LRRTM4 localized in the postsynaptic membranes of excitatory synapses are reported to engage in trans-synaptic interaction, resulting in GPC4 clustering in contacting axons and LRRTM4 clustering in contacting dendrites (PMID 23911103). Clone N205B/22 epitope is 100% conserved among human, murine, and rodent species (UniProt Q86VH4, Q80XG9, B4F7C5, respectively) and is located within the c-terminal region encompassing the last 20% of LTRRTM4 sequence

Western Blotting Analysis: 0.5 µg/mL from a representative lot detected LRRTM4 in 10 µg of rat brain tissue lysate. Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected LRRTM4 in human cerebellum, rat thalamus/Striatum, and rat cerebellum tissue. Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A representative lot detected LRRTM4 in cultured hippocampal neurons
